There Is A Widget Bug

There is a bug in my Donors Choose Widget, well not just mine, they are working on the problem.

So if you would like to donate even $5 to help your favorite project, teacher and students. Go here to this link http://www.donorschoose.org/donors/viewChallenge.html?id=19148. I have 4 pages of projects listed on the Donors Choose page at the top where projects starts is next pages.

Remember you can donate as little as $5 to your favorite project or as many projects as you would like. These projects are to help teachers and students get help with the money needed for things they need, where poverty is high and with huge school budget cuts, if they even have a budget.

Some of the states I have listed with different projects are : Oh yes and these projects keep rotating around so ones featured on the first page do change.

1. Texas
2. North Carolina
3. Minnesota
4. Illinois
5. Michigan
6. Kentucky
7. Arizona
8. New Jersey
9. Montana
10. Florida
11. Indiana
12. South Carolina
12. New York
13. Wisconsin
14. Mississippi
15. Southern California

There are more projects listed in other states as well on the page. I also had 10 others listed as well and they have been fully funded. Those teachers and students received the money needed for their projects.

Update On Father-In-Law (All Hell Broke Loose)

Well some of you know by one of my earlier post that my Father-In-Law was diagnosed with Mantel Cell Lymphoma stage B (cancer and it is not curable.) If you didn’t know, you can go here and read the first post on this.

My Father-In-Laws treatments were going okay, he wasn’t getting sick or anything and yesterday all Hell Broke Loose!!!!

Logan and I were on our way to pick my father-in-law and my one sister-in-law up yesterday, when I didn’t see them outside I just felt something was wrong. My sister-in-law L came out and told me “Dad wasn’t breathing well and turned white as a ghost.” Oh Crap! I thought, so I parked the car and went in with Logan.

To make a long story short they rushed him to the hospital yesterday, his body wasn’t getting enough oxygen and was starting to shut down. They got him stabilized lastnight and this morning we got a call that his Kidneys had failed. Oh Sh….. !! this time I thought, well I might have actually said that out loud.

By this afternoon they said after a bunch of test his body was stabilizing again and everything was working on it’s own, even the kidneys, but only at 16%. All the test they ran they couldn’t tell why exactly the kidneys were reacting this way, but they would probably release him tomorrow if his body continued improving and being strong like it was.

So we got a call about 2 hours ago from a family member who has been at the hospital forever, all the kids have been rotating so someone is always there. my father-in-laws stomach is huge bloated and as hard as a rock and they don’t know why. My husband and his one brother along with a couple of sisters headed down there.

They were going to be taking him in for X-rays to see now what in the world is going on. I have not heard anything yet.

Potty Training At It’s Best

Okay this toddler potty training story has humor, but is not for the faint of heart and if you are I would not read this post. lol

So my 2 1/2 year old son has been doing very well with his potty training both going #1 and #2 in his potty chair and we only use diapers at nap times and bed time. He has this thing about when he goes in his potty chair he has to show me. He takes the insert out of his toilette and bringing it to me, very carefully I might add.

So the other night my husband is in living room watching some golf and I am on the phone talking to my best friend in Florida. When I hear my son come up behind me and say mommy look I pooped. Now I know I had just put a diaper on him, because we were going to be getting ready for bed.

I slowly turned around, phone still attached to my ear and said “what honey?” My son repeated “I pooped mommy” this time pointing down at his diaper. At the same time I noticed the diaper was empty………………….

Toddlers Lack Of Sleep and Moms Drained

Well I think we are finally getting Logan on a better sleeping schedule. Thank goodness, for Logan and for me, because I have been drained and sleep deprived for so long I can’t remember.
I have read so many things, helpful tips hits, etc. on getting your toddler to sleep better with better hours and nothing really seemed to work for Logan. I had even been talking to my best friend in Florida and she told me Laurie you can not make him sleep, it is a stage he is going through and I found that to be so true.

So we had been at square one for some time, not being able to make it to circle one, lol………………….

Pictures – Getting Ready For The “Big Booms”

Pictures of Logan getting ready for the Big Boom fireworks. Here are some tips for next years fourth if you have a toddler. There is this one, however perfectly safe, because the spongy ear piece inside ear can not go in any farther. It does give the look of a Shreck mini me, so we went with the next one.

This next picture is the one we chose, not only did these stay on better, but your toddler won’t hear a thing. Caution to all parents, must speak up when toddler wears these.

Mom, Me and The Horses We Loved (Part 2 0f 2)

Okay, this is the second story to go along with my first one written around June 21st, sorry it took me so long for this one. I have been blogging away about everything else I guess.

So mom and I decided to go on this 6 hour trail ride, okay at the time we didn’t know it would be 6 hours. This was in Creswell Oregon several years ago, way up in the mountains, where there is so much national forest land it is amazing.

So the first thing we came across was this very old homestead, still had the little cabin and fenced coral, etc. It was so cool and so small, I remember thinking how it was that people actually were able to live there. You had to duck to get through the door and trust me I am no 6 ft tall or anything.

Then we found this place that opened up to these beautiful grassy hills that you could look over some other mountains and forest land with some huge oak and what looked to be apple trees. This is where our fun begins and I become the butt of the joke literally.

Safara my bay mare had been in a mood that day, still enjoying the ride, but she was quite testy and as soon as she would think I wasn’t paying attention she would try to escape or do something like jump over absolutely nothing. I realized the little jerk was just trying to get me off her back. I guess she thought if she could do that she would be wild and free for a moment.

Well as the case most of the time mom and I found something to start laughing about and then it became hysterical to us. Well Safara sensing I was in tears laughing so hard and not in control as I should be, started that trot that is made to keep you out of control. You know the one , very choppy hard to stay on, very fast but not quite a gallop or run, that kind of trot.

So there I am trying to hang on for dear life, passing up my mom and her horse and seeing this very big, very low tree in my view and laughing uncontrollably still. Yes I was still laughing when I realized my horse the little fart was going to take me right under it. Okay I am sure she wanted to go right under it and me come right off from a branch.

All I could hear above my own laughter was that of my moms, yeah she wasn’t a lot of help. I did notice my mom started to laugh even harder if that was possible. So here I am now face to face with that tree and yep here goes Safara right under that bad boy. As fast as I could move I was on the side of the saddle leaning over as far as I could without falling on my face.

So I get the little nightmare under control finally, without falling off I might add and let me tell you I am not happy at this point, all laughter now gone. I whisper to my horse that I, not her am the smarter of the two of us and if she ever tries that again I will be writing down numbers to glue factories.

Well here comes my mom, oh yes still laughing trying to tell me something and then starts laughing all over again. That catchy kind of laugh where you start laughing too and you don’t even know why. So my mom the loving woman she is begins to tell me that is was the funniest thing she ever saw when Safara and I passed her up. I reminded her I could have been killed ( okay, not really) but it sounded good.

She says “wait I’m not done.” I am mortified to this day at what my mom says next. ” Both you and Safara’s butts were so in sink in that horrible trot bouncing back and forth so fast and choppy, they looked almost the same, it was the funniest thing I ever saw when you and Safara passed me.”

You have heard of owners looking like their dogs and visa versa, well here it is folks owner and horse butts that look alike. I am not exactly sure what my mom was trying to say that day about my butt. lol
No really in my moms behalf I am sure it did look pretty flippin funny, because it felt like it.

Breaking News – Public Apology Yes or No

I get so tired of just keeping my mouth shut about certain things in life that really bother me. So here it it goes.
On another sight they had mentioned that Florida had recently given a public apology for slavery and yes I looked it up and verified it, but this was the question they posted:

Should The United States Issue A Public Apology For Slavery?

I answered absolutely not, it’s 2008 get over it !! now before some of you get your panties in a bunch let me explain a few things.

First I am not a racist nor do I ever plan on being one, that is a whole other topic.

My point is this:

Have we issued a public apology to the American Indians, for taking their land, etc ? Oh we have given them their casinos and reservations, BIG WOOP !
Have we issued a public apology to the American Jews, because we were so slow to act, that had we been quicker we could have saved half of their relatives?

Why would we want to open up this can of worms, when there has been so many that have been affected by things. Some of the things that our forefathers, ancestors and Government has done were awful, but these things happened soooooo many years ago.

You can not single out one American race to give an apology to and not the others, that is wrong. If you do you are saying what exactly? That one race is better than another, that one American race, because of what happened way in the past is able to use that excuse to get more things and do more than any other American? Are you saying that what one race went through was way worse then the ones listed above and others?

We all work, pay taxes, live in this country as one country, it’s time we start acting like it.

I want as much time and energy that is focused on slavery to be focused on things at hand.

I WANT TO KNOW ABOUT:

What is being done about our economy going to hell in a hand basket and very quickly.
Someone tell me what is being done about these awful gas prices that are only suppose to get worse.
Finding ways to help our unemployment rate and all the poor people out of work that is sky rocketing monthly.
Who’s putting energy into fighting for grocery prices, that buying milk and a bag of potato chips is like buying gold.
These are the things I want focused on, these are the things we all need answers to and this is what people should be focusing on.

Your Gas Stations Have Their Eyes On You

Do Soaring gas prices have you thinking about ripping of a tank of gas?
I guess according to our paper and some statistics some drivers are doing that very thing, a lot more drivers than ever are now.

We all know about drive-off gas thieves at the gas pump, but since the sky rocket in gas prices there seems to be an all time high of this occurrence, all over the place.
So gas station owners are starting to install camera systems that are designed to record your plates and some owners are starting to write down license plate numbers, some only do those plates that are linked to people that look like they are up to something, while other owners have taken to writing down every vehicles plates.

Wow what a mess, how time consuming and can be costly, but I suppose not as costly as people time after time driving off without paying for their gas.
