More Personal Than Ever “All About Laurie”
I have lived in Michigan, California, Oregon, Montana, Minnesota and Florida.
I have seen a lot, done a lot and seen & met all kinds of people, I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
I have had horses & have been a real life cowgirl pretty much, mom and I training & breaking horses. I have had every other kind of animal in between & gone to having not an animal at all.
I have gone from being down to literally Pennies with my parents and us selling firewood to be able to survive. At times I have made decent money & had decent jobs. I have worked as a housekeeper and at a zoo when I was younger, Waitress, Bartender, Production, Pruduction Line Leader, Accounts Payable for computer construction software company and at The Ledger Newspaper in Florida.
I have been fortunate enough to have a wonderful family, that has been loving, caring, thoughtful and supportive.
I have found a woman that I am so greatful and pleased to call my best friend.
I have loved and lost & I have loved and gained………………………………

How Fast Children Grow Up
You know I was noticing once again how much Logan is changing right before my eyes. His face is changing again, looking a little more mature & i can not believe how much taller he has gotten in just 3 months.
I thought maybe I had just shrunk his clothes or something.
Nope thats not it, unfortunately. He is the true meaning of growing like a weed.
Pretty soon my little baby won’t be my little baby anymore.
HIT AND RUN – 11 YEAR OLD VICTIM
This actually happened a little while ago, but the man who did this has just gotten out this month after only serving a little over a year.
A little over a year ago a man (Sanchez) driving a friends van was returning home when an 11 year old girl (Gladys) stepped out into the crosswalk. When Sanchez turned the corner the van struck 11 year old Gladys lodging her in its wheel well and kept going. GOOD GRIEF!!!!
People that saw what was happening tried desperately to get Sanchez to stop. He dragged Gladys for a quarter of a mile down the flippin road. This destroyed her one arm and mangled a leg, she did by some miracle survive, but the arm was amputated. HOW UTTERLY AWEFUL !!!
Sanchez was sentenced on march 21st 2007 to 23 months.
The father of Gladys is so upset and there is no love for the driver (Sanchez) who almost killed his only daughter. The other reasons for this besides the obvious, is the man who cost his child her arm and rendered a leg pretty much useless, got out of prison after barely serving a year.
The authorities said that their hands were tied. The judge went on to say: “It was about as sad an experience I’ve had as a judge. He recalled seeing the horrific hospital photos of Gladys injuries and feling frustrated he couldn’t give Sanchez more time. The judge also said “This poor girl was minding her own business, Sanchez deserves more prison time.”
Authorities said “our sentencing guidelines do not comprehend the magnitude of a crime of this nature, it doesn’t even call for a prison sentence.” NICE ONE !
Sanchez’s Attorney said “Sanchez felt an enormous amount of shame and sympathy for the victim and her family.” I WOULD HOPE SO, FOR GOODNESS SAKE !
OUR HEARTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU GLADYS AND YOUR FAMILY AS WELL. HANG IN THERE SWEETIE, IT CAN ONLY GET BETTER FROM HERE.

Mothers Jobs Never Done and Husbands That Do Not Always Understand
I love my husband very much. I think he is a very good father & a good husband most of the time.
We had an agreement, when I was pregnant with Logan that I would be a stay at home mom until Logan starts school. My husband came to me with this first & I whole heartly agreed. That way we know what our child is being taught at such a young age, that our son has at least one of us with him & we can be raising him how we see fit & not some stranger at such a young age.
Let me say I know why not all couples or families can do this. It is not easy first all going from two incomes down to one. It is a bit more of a struggle, it just depends on how big of an award it is for you, if your lifestyle & bills can even allow such an idea.
One issue though that we have had is him not completely understanding what it is I actually do as a stay at home mom. More & more I hear of this from other mothers whether they stay at home or not. I think they should call this men’s I don’t have a clue disease. JUST KIDDING !
My husband does work an aweful lot, he is gone from us more than I would like. I know this also takes a toll on him at times. He sometimes doesn’t realize my mom duties can be just as hard, long, busy, frustrating, physically pulling, mentally exhausting. Being a mom does not mean my shift ends at 6:00 p.m. on weekdays & stops on Friday night for the weekend.
I am raising a child, teaching him, spending time with him, working on the things he needs to learn, potty training, doing activities, & much much more. Thats not including cleaning, cooking, shopping, laundry, doing projects around the house, etc. I just don’t get paid for my job in cash. Do not get me wrong I do not look at raising our son to be a chore. I love doing what I do, being able to be with our son & raising him, for me this is so rewarding.
Soooooo, hmmm what do you do or say?
Well I told my husband just know what it is I do & give me the respect I deserve, like the respect I give you for working so much & being understanding most of the time of me staying home with Logan. I am not a lazy mom sitting on my butt eating chocolate on the couch every day & then exspect you to do the dishes when you get home from work. Just try not to make it sound like I don’t do anything if I have had a hard day & something isn’t done or don’t make it sound that my job is so easy there is nothing to it.
It seems my husband understands what I am saying, I guess only time will tell.

My Son What a Character (Humor)
My two year old son Logan is such a character. The other day my mom took him to the park & he saw a woman there holding a newborn. He asked my mom, is she a nana too? Mom laughed & said no sweetie she is a mommy. Logan said to the woman ” Hi Mommy “

My Two Year Old Thinks He Is A Doctor (humor)
So My two year old noticed tonight that I had a soda & he said mommy I want a sip. Okay I said just one sip then that’s it.
So of course my son wanted more, I very nicely told me that soda is not good for him he is only 2 years old with 2 year old kidneys & liver & it isn’t good for his little body.
He said yes it is good for me mommy, I said no it’s not & he then yelled at me very loudly I might add,” YES IT IS GOOD FOR ME.” I looked at him shocked & said the only thing I could think of ”are you a doctor?” he looked right at me & said “yes I am mommy.”

Toddler Boy’s Who Love To Jump Off High Things
Okay, so my son who is a toddler likes to find the highest thing he can & jump off of it. I can not imagine toddler girls go through this. Do they?
It is insane to me & can not believe my eyes when he does this. Logan’s recent thing has been now to land right on his knees, OH MY Gosh !
We have had to try to put a stop to this. Not only because it looks & sounds just aweful, but now he is getting bruises all over his legs. also because Logan told me the other day “mommy my back is sick.” Yep you guessed it he is now hurting his back & at his age I can not think this is good.
I say try to put a stop to this, because he will still try to sneak to do this. I can not imagine why, but he does.
I told my husband we need to get him knee pads, I know they make them cause I have seen them. I use to think they were for peewee sports, but I think it is for parents who have toddler boys who jump off everything & make their back sick.

Flight from Minnesota To Florida (Mom Leaves Tues.)
Well my mom and brother’s flight leaves tomorrow from here in Minnesota back to Florida. I can’t help it I am still so bummed. I am going to miss them so much.
Logan is going to have a cow, about nana leaving. She is so much of his world both when he was born and now that he is older. Of course my mom and brother have always been a big part of mine too. Not forgetting about my dad, but he was unable to come up to visit this time.
They are hoping to get back up here maybe in a couple months or so and maybe find an apartment. So I will hold on to that. One never knows what may or may not happen.

AMERICAN IDOL 5/14/08
Wow to awesome american idol was last. I felt bad for Syesha, but I think she will do fine. So it is down to the two David’s. ( YEAH ) I was hoping that’s what would happen, but you never know.
I am still wanting David Cook to win & gosh I hope he does. I just love his voice ” I cant say it enough.” In my oppion he can sing anything & make it sound so good.
One thing I do not agree with Randy on is David C. to just sing rock, I like it when David sings without the rock sound too. really he is so talented it is amazing. There have been rockers in the past on American Idol & thats the only way they sounded their best. With David C. it is different, because anything he sings sounds great.
GO DAVID COOK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Be Careful Little Ears What You Hear
I think all children are beautiful. Not just on the outside, but what they say & how they say it, how they interpret things. It is just amazing to me.
The saying, they are like little sponges, I find this so true. Having to be careful what they soak up is the hard part.
Like swearing for instance, oh man. My husband & I try to be so careful. Once & a great while though the inevitable happens & a colorful word comes out of our mouth. We hear some parents swear like there is no tomorrow & don’t even blink an eye when their children are around. I bet they would change their tune if their toddler started repeating everything they said over & over.
Like what happened to us, we were watching a movie that had a bit of swearing in it.
Of course thinking Logan was still to young to really understand or repeat this. Yeah right, did we have a rude awaking. How in the world do they know how to use it? I mean like to know to use it when they are angry, etc. So for a week we had to work on telling him thats a naughty word, little boys don’t say that word & make sure he didn’t hear it again. It was really fun especially in public, we would have to be creative & say, yes honey we did see a duck, things like that. We just did not want people to question what in the world we teach our son.
So parents my only advice here, is to be very careful with what your toddler/child hears & never underestimate their age or how much they really are paying attention.
